ITV The Chase viewers demand 'rule change' as they issue same complaint
The Chase returned for another new episode today as four new contestants took on the Chaser for a shot at the prize fund. The ITV show has been a regular part of evening TV since it first aired in 2009 but it appears some fans have turned their back on one rule.
In the latest episode of the gameshow the four contestants taking on the Chaser were Suzy, Lee, Maya and Frank. The first contestant to take on Shaun Wallace was Frank and despite achieving a respectable £6,000 in the cash building round he went for the lower offer of £2,000 to try and make it easier to reach the final chase.

Although he went for the lower offer, Frank failed to reach the final chase after he was caught with two questions left to answer. Fans were frustrated when only one from the four contestants chose to go for an offer that wasn't the lowest option.
Maya answered six questions correctly in the cashbuilder round and went straight down the middle as she stuck with £6,000 when facing the Chaser. She made it back for the final chase and was the first to add to the cash pot.
The remaining two contestants, Lee and Suzy both tried to play it safe by taking the lower offer. Lee took on the the Dark Destroyer in a bid to bring back £1,000 to the prize fund but was caught in a one question shootout. While Suzie also took an offer of £1,000, she made it back to the final chase to help her teammate out and make the prize money £7,000.
After the decisions of the players, viewers took to social media to share their thoughts. One comment said: "#thechase ITV needs to change the rules of the game. Apparently there needs to be an incentive to not go low besides the money difference. Offer a prize. The low offers will kill the show."
A second angered commenter said: "What’s with everyone taking the low offer on #TheChase at the minute ffs. Might as well go high and at least go out in a blaze of glory !!!" Further posts included "Why are all these people going for the low offer?" and "well that does it! the last time i shall watch the chase I may be back when contestants refuse the low offer."
