ITV The Chase's Anne Hegerty issues appeal to fans ahead of 15th anniversary special

Anne Hegerty, known as The Governess on The Chase, has called on fans to support the show ahead of its 15th anniversary episode. The 66-year-old quizzer appeared on Loose Women alongside co-star Shaun Wallace, also known as the Dark Destroyer, to discuss the programme's significant milestone.

The special edition of the iconic quiz show will feature a unique twist, with four contestants who share the same name as the chasers taking on not one, but two quizzers. However, the conversation soon shifted to the upcoming National Television Awards where The Chase is set to compete against Loose Women.

Anne humorously remarked: "You beat us last year and we're not having that again.Shaun added: " Shaun chimed in: "You've got two chances, slim and none." Panelist Coleen Nolan responded: "That's fighting talk."

Anne added: "We're up for Best Daytime against you lot, and various other people, and Beat The Chasers is up for Best Quiz or Game Show and Bradley is up for Best Presenter so everyone please get behind us and vote.", reports the Mirror.

A new trailer for Monday's episode shows host Bradley Walsh saying: "These four people have never met before but by working together as a team they have the chance to win thousands of pounds! Today, two things are standing in their way. Two Chasers. The Chase double trouble is on."

Excitement is mounting among fans of The Chase as a teaser showed contestants named Darragh, Jenny, Anne, and Paul lined up to face not one but two mystery quiz champions. Posted on the show's official Instagram on Friday (August 30), it stirred a flurry of speculation in the comments section.

One viewer was quick to point out: "Love how the contestants names are Chaser names...well played everyone."

While another shared their anticipation: "Can't wait to watch, the two chasers must be Shaun and Mark, the first two chasers."

Another fan chimed in with "Can't wait for this then," and yet another weighed in predicting, "I bet Mark and Shaun are the Chasers."

True enthusiasts recognise that the Chasers include Mark Labbett, Shaun Wallace, Anne Hegerty, Paul Sinha, Jenny Ryan, and newcomer Darragh Ennis.

Longtime viewers will know Mark and Shaun have been part of the game since its inception. Anne entered the fray in series two, followed by Paul in the fourth run, Jenny making her debut in series nine, and Darragh joining the ranks in series 13.

Although typically one chaser challenges contestants per episode, with exceptions for certain specials, the hit quiz show is gearing up for a spectacular double trouble event to commemorate its 15th year on the air.

Loose Women airs weekdays on ITV1 and ITVX at 12.30pm and The Chase airs weekdays on ITV1 and ITVX at 5pm
