ITV The Chase's Bradley Walsh blown away by Scouser as he made admission
ITV's The Chase returned for another star-studded celebrity special on Saturday. Tonight's contestants included actress Catherine Tyldesley, entrepreneur Levi Roots, Liverpool comedian Chris McCausland and composer Rick Wakeman.
Quiz master Anne 'The Governess' Hegerty was their opponent. First up to the plate was Catherine who banked a respectable £3,000 for the team. Levi was second to take on the Chaser and managed to take home an additional £4,000, setting the team's balance at £7,000.
Liverpool talent Chris was up next and scored £6,000 in the cash builder round. However, he was swayed by the Chaser's high offer and decided to play for a whopping £83,000 instead.
Discussing the higher option, Chris said: "Someone's got to do it. I've got a sweatproof undervest on for the occasion and it'd feel a shame not to use it." Blown away by his bravery, Bradley said: "Well done. Absolutely terrific."
Chris soared through the head-to-head and successfully banked the £83,000, skyrocketing the team's overall cash prize to £90,000. Rick was last to take on the chaser but added £2,000 to the pot, leaving all four celebrities playing for £92,000 in the final round.
The celebrities answered 18 questions successfully leaving a respectable gap between Anne and winning. The Governess was quick and confident with her answers though she did fumble one, allowing the celebrities to push her back a single time.
Sadly, they were beaten with only four seconds left on the clock. Despite their overall great performance and whopping cash total, they left with only £1,000 each for their chosen charity.
