ITV The Chase's Darragh Ennis announces 'future career move' live on air
The Chase's Darragh Ennis, also known as The Menace, joked about a possible "future career move" live on air during Friday's episode. Four new chasers were ready to take part in the hit ITV game show with the hopes of winning a whopping cash prize. Host Bradley Walsh welcomed Jamie, Anne, George and Faith to the competition.
First contestant to take on the cash builder round was Faith, who works as a cancer researcher at Sheffield University. During the small talk section with host Bradley Walsh, Faith said she enjoyed watching "trashy TV shows" to switch off her brain at the end of the day.
After naming a few of her reality TV favourites, including Celebs Go Dating, and Married At First Sight, Bradley joked: "What made you come on here [The Chase] then?"

However, as Darragh Ennis made his first appearance to Friday's contestants, he immediately commented on Faith's chosen hobby. He said: "I hate that you called them 'trashy TV shows'."
The Menace added: "As a Chaser that's my future career move." The quizzer owes his successful career to his incredible popularity on The Chase. Many fans of the ITV show refer to Darragh as their "favourite." On social media, one viewer said: "Love Darragh he’s my favourite chaser."
Darragh first appeared as a contestant in 2017. He is the only person to ever make the transition from contestant to Chaser. Previously talking to the ECHO, he said: "I did well on the quiz, but a lot of people do. I don't get stage fright. I don't get rattled by cameras or anything and a lot of people do. That can subtract a bit from how well their personality comes across.
"So, because I had that advantage, maybe they just saw something and thought 'this fella is very relaxed on camera', which is a big part of the job. It's not just about knowing stuff. It's about being calm enough in the moment to recall everything quickly so I think just a combination of those things."
Days after his first appearance, Darragh received a phone call from show bosses with a proposition about whether he would be interested in becoming the newest Chaser. More recently, The Chaser launched a podcast, A Normal Meets A Nerd, with Scouse TikTok star, Dylan Evans. He has also released a book, The Body: 10 Things You Should Know.
The Chase is on ITV at 5pm.
