'Love Island' will return to screens on Monday June 6.

The hit dating show - which sees young singletons pair up in a villa in Mallorca and has launched the careers of influencers such as Molly Mae Hague and Amy Hart - will be back on ITV2 in just under two weeks' time, the broadcaster has confirmed.

Alongside an animated video, a tweet from the show's official account read: "Here's your first hot date of the summer. #LoveIsland is back Monday 6th June on @itv2 and @itvhub!"(sic)

While no contestants have been announced, an official lineup should be out in due course, with Laura Whitmore set to return to her role as host and husband Iain Stirling joining her once again to narrate the series.

News of the launch date comes just hours after Ian claimed that the upcoming eighth series will be the "sexiest" yet following its move to a brand new villa.

He said: "I know it’s got a fire pit because I talked about that in the trailer and I imagine if there’s more working out space it’ll be the sexiest series we’ve ever had.

But Iain is yet to set eyes on the villa himself.

He said: "I’ve not seen the villa. I like to wait and see it on the first day and meet the Islanders for the first time, so I’m like a viewer seeing it for the first time, too. That’s my vibe ... or maybe it’s just me being a little bit lazy."

Iain also admitted he is "really proud" of the show and didn't expect it to be such a hit.

He told OK! magazine: "None of us expected it to become so big, so the fact we had so much fun making it and then all of a sudden it is

everywhere, makes me really proud."

'Love Island' airs from Monday 6 June on ITV2.
