Coronation Street has seen more than just talented actors grace its cobbles, with several real-life family members sharing screen time over the years. Among them are cousins Brooke Vincent and Ellie Leach, as well as the late Rick Neelan (Greg Wood), who was the actual brother of footballer Tommy Orpington (Matt Milburn).

However, these aren't the only ones with familial connections both on and off the show. A mother and son duo that appeared on the soap years ago has recently surprised fans.

Sue Jenkins, who joined the cast as Gloria Todd in 1985, became a familiar face as a barmaid at the iconic Rovers Return, according to the Daily Star. She also worked alongside Julie Goodyear, who famously played landlady Bet Lynch.

Besides her role in Corrie, Sue portrayed Jackie Corkhill in Brookside for nine years from 1992 to 2001 and had a brief stint in Emmerdale in 2008 as Bonnie Drinkwater. Interestingly, her very famous son also made an appearance on Corrie - Richard Fleeshman, who played Craig Harris.

Richard joined the Coronation Street cast in 2002 as part of the Harris family, who were under the witness protection programme. His character, Craig, had some significant moments during his time on the show, reports the Liverpool Echo.

He underwent a transformation into a goth, much to the chagrin of his father, and became the first love interest of Rosie Webster, played by Helen Flanagan. The plot thickened when Craig's sister, Katy Harris, killed their father in a heated dispute over her secret relationship with Martin Platt.

Their mother, Angela Harris, tried to shield Katy, but overwhelmed by remorse, Katy ended her own life. In the wake of this tragedy, Craig planned to escape to Berlin with Rosie but ultimately left alone, saying goodbye to the cobbles for good in 2006.

The disclosure of Sue and Richard's stint on Corrie left fans on social media taken aback. On X, formerly known as Twitter, one viewer tweeted about Sue's time on Corrie.

Another fan replied: "That's Richard Fleishman mum! ! " Another user remarked: "Wow, all this time watching and I never knew that I could see her son in that photo now."

A third chimed in, stating: "Her real-life son played Craig Harris, son of Psycho Tommy! ".
