ITV Coronation Street fans slam 'unrealistic' storyline following Carla's brain surgery

Fans of Coronation Street have been left doubtful regarding Carla Connor's miraculous recovery after she underwent life-saving surgery on her brain.

Following her attack over the head by a mystery person on Monday's episode, Carla was in a terrible way. Rushed to the local hospital, the factory owner was taken straight to theatre.

But not long after, on Wednesday's episode (November 27), it appeared as though Carla had made a U-turn. While being joined by Roy Cropper and Ryan Connor at her bedside, Carla was coherent.

Near the end of the programme, after receiving a visit from DC Swain's daughter, Betsy, Carla was able to work out that Betsy was responsible for her attack. However, viewers at home weren't buying her quick turnaround and headed over to X to share their thoughts.

One viewer said: "How come Carla has had a brain bleed but isn’t having probs speaking or moving her arms? It’s so unrealistic. She has had a brain bleed (STROKE) and has no symptoms whatsoever."

Another said: "Even just having surgery after a bleed on the brain, Carla is better at working things out than Wethy police [sic]."

A third joked: "Wetherfield Hospital is amazing. Brain Surgery with full ICC care to fully upright In 25 minutes."

Another viewer shared: "Carla being as sharp as ever even after brain surgery! She's wasted in the factory, she should have been a Detective. Ali King nailing every scene, the humour with Roy and Ryan, the angst with Lisa and Betsy."

Another said: "Bleed on brain and Carla hours later putting all the pieces together....okayyy...". Meanwhile, a sixth viewer added: "Carla's bleed on the brain recovery must be the quickest in NHS history..."

After confronting Betsy about her involvement in the attack, Carla was determined to tell Betsy's mum about the situation.

But later on in the show, Carla appeared to have a change of heart and ended up not telling DC Swain about the attack and went on to share just how "good" Betsy is.
