ITV Coronation Street fans spot Betsy's vital mistake as downfall 'sealed'

Coronation Street fans are convinced they've spotted Betsy Swain's vital mistake after Monday's episode.

During the latest instalment, Betsy, played by Sydney Martin, told Mason Radcliffe, played by Luca Toolan, that he didn't have to worry about his troublesome brothers anymore as she had struck a deal with them.

It was soon revealed that Betsy planned for the brothers to rob the Underworld factory as long as they would leave Mason alone afterwards. Later during the episode, Betsy confirmed that the factory was empty due to a team bonding day and she had turned the CCTV cameras off, as well as secured a set of spare keys to let them in.

However, in true soap style, the burglary didn't go to plan as Carla Connor, played by Alison King, returned to the factory early after DS Lisa Swain, played by Vicky Myers, admitted she wasn't ready for a relationship. This resulted in Carla being struck over the head by Mason's brothers and later in the episode she collapsed with it revealed she needs emergency surgery due to a bleed on the brain.

Betsy has been left devastated over the plan backfiring with Carla hurt and viewers have already predicted more drama for the teen after spotting her mistake on Monday night.

Taking to social media, one person said: "The lock on the factory door was ridiculously flimsy. One shove & it would’ve opened, how would any insurance company would pay out on that? Clever Betsy switched the CCTV off ….. good thinking, however when the police check it, who was the last person captured on it?"

To which a different account replied: "Plus other businesses close by will have cctv plus lots of folk now have video doorbells" while another added: "You would need a password to unlock the cctv to get in etc , apart from Carla only Sarah or Michael will have access to it..."
