ITV Coronation Street fans spot new clue that 'proves' Joel Deering's fate

Coronation Street fans are convinced they've rumbled Joel Deering's fate amid the villain's sudden disappearance.

Soap watchers will recall that on Monday night, Dee-Dee Bailey, played by Channique Sterling-Brown, received an odd voice message from evil ex Joel, played by Calum Lill, with DS Lisa Swain, played by Vicky Myers, speculating it could be a suicide note

Joel was finally caught out in recent episodes with evidence proving his evil crimes, leaving him facing prison and fiancé Dee-Dee dumping him, calling off their wedding before receiving the odd message.

As the police investigated Joel's disappearance and message, officer Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) revealed he had a lead on Joel and he managed to locate his last whereabouts, where they found his car parked next to a bridge with a folded note on the dashboard, with DS Swain fearing he could be dead and had taken his own life.

However, Dee-Dee was suspicious and didn't believe the police's theory as she headed to the crime scene herself. After asking Joel's past victim, Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton), about the location image she had tracked of Joel, Dee-Dee investigated where she found a small car hidden in the woods.

Dee-Dee immediately told DS Swain, who assured her they would look into it. Later, while searching Joel's flat, DS Swain and Kit discovered the notebook the evil solicitor used for his note, realising that it was all pre-planned.

Later, as Dee-Dee continued to argue the case that Joel had clearly faked everything, Kit received a call where it was revealed that the car did belong to Joel with his DNA in the vehicle as well as a laptop under the seat.

On Wednesday night, Dee-Dee confided in Kit that she phoned the wedding venue and the holiday company, revealing that Joel had already recouped their deposits pointing out it was a strange thing to do if he was indeed planning his own death.

Later, Kit spoke to DS Swain about Joel developments and which car he had parked up first to which she said she was still waiting to hear back. However, fans spotted that Kit failed to tell DS Swain about Dee-Dee's information and the fact Joel asked for the deposits back from the wedding.

Taking to Twitter, now X, viewers are convinced that Joel has faked his own death and will return for an explosive storyline with Kit helping him. Viewers have previously shared their suspicions over dodgy copper Kit, especially after he previously planted a then missing Lauren's DNA to frame Nathan Curtis, who was arrested, with real culprit Joel then still at large.

One person said: "Why didn't Kit tell Swain what Dee-Dee just told him? #Corrie", a different account wrote: "Kit is dodgy as f**k #corrie", another put: "I think Joel hiding somewhere nearby he vile #corrie" while a different account added: "Kit has a hand in this Joel business. Mark my words. #corrie."

Coronation Street continues on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on both ITV and ITV X.
