Coronation Street viewers are convinced they have worked out Joel Deering's twisted next move.

The character, played by Calum Lill, has emerged as the Cobbles' new villain after he attacked Lauren Bolton. Joel's reign of terror looks set to continue as he is the solicitor representing Nathan Curtis, the character falsely accused of the crime.

However, viewers do not think Joel is ready to stop just yet. Viewers are convinced he is behind Bethany Platt's credit card fraud.

The character, played by Lucy Fallon, was confused when she found out somebody was using her old company credit card. She opened up to Daisy Midgeley in the Rovers Return about the ordeal.

Joel did not play a large part in tonight's episode, but he popped into the fictional pub towards the end of the show and offered to help Bethany out if she needed any advice. Daisy heaped praise on him while Bethany looked slightly suspicious.

Viewers following the show on X think Joel is directly responsible for the credit card fraud and Bethany will eventually be the character who outs him for who he truly is.

Shaky said: "I think Joel used Bethany's credit card?" Ryan added: "I wonder if Joel was behind the credit card fraud?"

Carrie responded: "That's very possible as it wouldn't surprise me if he's trying to frame Bethany." Clare posted: "Ooh Bethany has got the measure of Joel"

Spartacus commented: "Bethany’s spidey sense is tingling around Joel"
