ITV Coronation Street Joel's cause of death revealed as Kit shows true colours
Coronation Street spoilers have confirmed exactly how Joel Deering (Calum Lill) died and the weapon used to kill him as a murder investigation gets underway in Weatherfield.
In a new clip from an episode set to air this week, DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) and PC Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) meet up at Roy's Rolls to discuss the latest information regarding the investigation into Joel's death. After being taken off the case, DS Swain is keen to find out all the details from her colleague.
DS Swain eagerly asks Kit: "What did the post-mortem say?" Kit replies: "Oh that. Yeah right. He's dead." Swain tells Kit: "You're a child. Cause of death?"
Kit answers: "It was whacked on the head." DS Swain probs further: "Any idea on the weapon?" but before he can respond, Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) walks over and interrupts their conversation to find out what has happened to his niece Dee-Dee Bailey's (Channique Sterling-Brown) evil ex.

The police officer snaps to Ronnie, saying: "Okay so here's what you need to do. You need to apply for police college, do your time and when you become a constable ask to be put on my team, then I'll fill you in."
Ronnie then walks off and DS Swain continues their conversation. She asks: "So, weapon?" Kit said: "Something well heavy, whoever broke into his flat, they used crowbar or something similar so until we get a better lead that's the thing we're looking for." DS Swain is left sitting in silence when her own thoughts but what does she know?
After initially making a good first impression with fans, it was revealed that Joel was caused Lauren Bolton's (Cait Fitton) disappearance after relentlessly abusing her and taking advantage of her vulnerability.
Joel recently did a runner as he dumped his car and appeared to fake his death. He left a suicide note in his car, but was later confirmed to have bought a second vehicle - casting doubt on him having ended his own life.
However, Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) revealed that Joel's body had been found by a riverbank. DS Lisa Swain and colleague Kit Green later confirmed the passing to Dee-Dee, despite not finding Joel's bod so it appears that Joel has died but who is responsible for his death?
