Coronation Street's star Peter Ash, who portrays Paul Foreman in the soap, is enjoying a peaceful personal life with his girlfriend Amy Shawcross, in stark contrast to his character's dramatic existence in Weatherfield. Since he first graced the cobbles in 2018, the actor's real-world has been focused around his loved ones, including his partner Amy, a nurse by profession, and their child Ayden.

Regularly sharing glimpses into his love life on Instagram, Peter and his other half, who began dating in 2018, recently observed their fourth anniversary. Celebrating the milestone, Peter uploaded an old photograph taken at the pub where they had their first date, along with the heartfelt caption: "4 years ago we had our first date in this same pub! Love you".

Their shared social accounts are dotted with images capturing their time together, showcasing everything from relaxing evenings in to adventures in cities like Belfast and York, as well as lighthearted snapshots that underscore their playful relationship, according to Daily Star.

In one especially charming post, Peter recreated the famous upside-down Spider-Man kiss for Amy, playfully dangling in reverse to steal a smooch. Whilst Peter enjoys happy days away from the cameras, his onscreen counterpart wrestles with a harrowing storyline involving a Motor neurone disease (MND) diagnosis, losing his battle on last night's episode.

With the conclusion of the 18-month narrative arc looming, resulting in Paul's untimely departure, audiences will be reaching for the tissues as they bid farewell to his character in what promises to be an emotional exit, reports Plymouth Live.

Peter discussed the upcoming scenes, describing them as "strange" but also "emotional", and he cautioned viewers that it would be a "very sad" episode. He shared his thoughts: "I am happy with how it turned out and I'm excited for people to see it. I think it's gonna be a very sad episode, people have come to love Paul as a character. It's been amazing, people have taken him to heart."

"It's gonna be very sad, I'm looking forward to seeing the aftermath and how Billy, Bernie, how they all deal with it. It's bittersweet, mixed emotions. I'm so lucky with the actors I work with, they are amazing. It's been really special, I am gonna miss everyone."
