Coronation Street fans will be left gripped in upcoming scenes thanks to a slew of explosive storylines.

Spoilers for December see a new Shona Platt mystery where she's left injured. Elsewhere, there's a scary hospital dash for one youngster sparking concern.

Also on the hit ITV soap, there is a cobbles betrayal as one resident lies to another in order to get compensation. Here's the top spoilers ahead on Corrie...

Shona Platt mystery

In upcoming scenes, David Platt, played by Jack P Shepherd, tells Shona, played by Julia Goulding, that she better sleep on the sofa.

It comes as recent spoilers see Shona admit she's done done something she deeply regrets - but what has she done? As Shona beds down on the sofa for the night she receives a text and later she taps on a hotel bedroom door but just who is Shona visiting?

After the mystery meeting, Shona sneaks back home and clutches an injured arm, where she lies to David and makes out she fell down the stairs in the night resulting with a broken arm in two places.

Meanwhile, on the same night as Shona's hotel meeting, Debbie Webster's car is spotted speeding past before a deafening crash. The next day, with the car crash a mystery, Debbie learns her burnt-out car was found but her insurance is invalid due to the keys being left in the car.

Shona confesses to Adam Barlow about her injured arm, which is a result of being almost run over by a car linked to Debbie's stolen car. Later, Craig Tinker sees Shona out of the station and tells Kit Green that the case is far from closed. However, when Kit overhears Craig on the phone double checking CCTV footage, he kills the call and asserts that he’s in charge of the case. What's going on?

Later in the week, there's more mystery when David finds Shona's bloodied and torn coat in the wheelie bin. When he quizzes Shona about it, she makes out that she ruined it when she fell down the stairs but will David be convinced and what is Shona hiding?

Scary hospital dash

In upcoming scenes, Joel Deering's parents invite his ex partner Dee-Dee Bailey to join them at a memorial service in honour of their late son's birthday.

Insisting she’s too busy, Dee-Dee ushers Gus and Anthea out just as Max passes by with Frankie in his pram. Oblivious, Max stops and introduces them to Lauren's son but when Dee-Dee reveals who they are, Max is mortified.

Later in the week, Gus and Anthea have a brief meeting with their solicitor Cliff but things soon turn tense when Max arrives with Frankie. Following the meeting, Max takes Gus and Anthea back to his house, leaving them alone while he pops upstairs quickly but he is soon shocked to find them gone when he returns.

Things go from bad to worse when Lauren learns of bruising on Frankie's body and finds out he’s been admitted to hospital and they need to run some tests. What has happened to Frankie?

Cobbles betrayal

In upcoming scenes, Roy Cropper receives Evelyn Plummer's Christmas present in the post to which she rips open the gift and is delighted to find a backgammon set.

Later, Evelyn sets up her backgammon board in the pub to which Steve McDonald accidentally spills his beer all over it. Furious, Evelyn retaliates by sending Steve a letter informing that she’s taking him to the small claims court.

Things go from bad to worse when Steve shows Alya Nazir the letter from Evelyn demanding £325 in damages for her backgammon set to which Alya advises him to pay it.

Later, Steve pays Evelyn the £325 but when Evelyn admits that the solicitor's letter was a fake and she wrote it herself, Alya is left amused. However, what will Steve think of the betrayal if he finds out?
