ITV Coronation Street spoilers tease huge secret, crash horror and familar face return

The latest spoilers for ITV's Coronation Street reveal an exciting few weeks for the soap in the run-up to Christmas. New spoilers for the week of December 9 have unveiled huge moments, The Mirror reports, as well as some big discoveries - there's plenty of danger and drama, too.

One characters in the beloved soap is harbouring a secret all while also involved in another cover up, which leaves them in harms way. Meanwhile, a mystery for one resident of the street comes amid a feud with another, and two more characters are also at odds - talk about drama in every corner.

The spoilers also see the return of two familiar faces to the street, and one 'rather cryptic' spoiler for the week ahead involves the iconic Gail Platt ahead of her exit on Christmas day after 50 years in the soap. Gail gathers her family together as she and her new partner, Jesse Chadwick, make a big announcement.

And sticking with the Platt family, Bethany faces heartache amid her rocky romance with Daniel Osbourne as it becomes clear that he and Daisy Midgeley are hiding a secret. Meanwhile, as Debbie's row with Daniel over Bethany comes to boiling point, his son Bertie is almost hurt, making the situation even worse.

Amid drama with Daniel, things heat up between Daisy and Kit Green, but when Debbie's car is stolen and is spotted speeding through the street, Daisy is left in shock. It's teased that there's a huge crash - but just what has happened remains to be seen.

The Mirror goes on to report that another character is involved, as a secretive Shona Platt confides in Adam Barlow that she injured her arm after almost being run over by a car linked to Debbie's stolen vehicle. Kit potentially knows something though, as when he realises Craig Tinker is double checking CCTV footage, he kills the call and asserts that he’s in charge of the case.

What is he up to? Meanwhile Shona lies to David Platt about how she got her injuries, claiming to have fallen down the stairs. Prior to the car incident and after receiving a text, Shona heads to a hotel to meet a mystery person.

She sneaks back home after lying about what's happened, so who has she visited and what is she hiding? Evelyn Plummer declares war on Steve McDonald next week, too, as he ruins a gift from Roy Cropper.

Evelyn sends Steve a letter informing that she’s taking him to the small claims court. Will the pair manage to clear the air?

Finally there's a double return when Joel's parents head to the Street to see Dee-Dee Bailey. But when Max Turner walks past with Joel's baby son Frankie in his pram, he's mortified when he shares who Frankie is to them.

Gus and Anthea are later invited to the Platts to see little Frankie. But when Max leaves them alone while he pops upstairs, he is shocked to find them gone when he returns.

Meanwhile, Frankie's mother Lauren Bolton is terrified when she finds out he’s been admitted to hospital and they need to run some tests. What is wrong with her baby?
