ITV Coronation Street star Jane Danson says 'sorry' in public apology to famous husband

Jane Danson has issued a public apology to her famous husband after Manchester United's FA Cup win. ITV Coronation Street star Jane, who plays Leanne Battersby, said sorry to Robert Beck after "stealing" his jersey for the Wembley match this weekend.

Posing in a United shirt alongside her husband, Jane said: "Come on you reds... @robertbeck529 sorry I stole your shirt." In reply, a fan said: "Sis sorry you are in the wrong colour. Come on city." Chris wrote: "Brilliant!"

"Can Leanne reality code them to win?" another asked. "What a game and what a result for united!!" a fellow fan said. "In that second pic the way you look at Robert is just adorable," another said. "Sadly I’m a Leicester city fan. I can’t really give an opinion on the FA cup final," another laughed.

"Leeds Leeds Leeds Marching on together all Leeds aren’t we," another said. "Come on Man Utd!!!!" another typed. "Well we won," said another. Jane has been with actor Robert for more than two decades.

The pair enjoyed the FA Cup final this weekend with United running out 2-1 winners over rivals Manchester City. City, managed by Pep Guardiola, were the heavy favourites after winning the Premier League but United overcame them.

Robert, like Jane, is also a familiar face in TV, having starred in Brookside, Emmerdale, Waterloo Road, and even had a stint in Corrie in 2008. More recently, Robert played Fergus Collins in Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks and had a dramatic short stint in Emmerdale at the end of last year as villain Damon 'Harry' Harris.

But it wasn't actually his first time in the Dales as Robert actually played a character in the soap for more than 70 episodes back in the 90s and long-time Emmerdale fans may remember him. He starred as Bernice Blackstock's love interest Gavin Ferris in 1999 but in a twist, the character was caught kissing Jason Kirk amid his engagement to Bernice.
