The actor who portrays Kit Green in Coronation Street has hinted at a dramatic turn of events for his character, suggesting an unexpected Weatherfield resident will deliver his "comeuppance."

The character of Kit, a corrupt police officer played by Jacob Roberts, first appeared on the scene this year as Bernie's (Jane Hazlegrove) long-lost son. Bernie had given up Christopher 'Kit' Green for adoption nearly three decades ago and recently managed to locate him.

When he arrived at the cobbles, Bernie's twins, Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) and Paul (Peter Ash), were shocked to discover they had another sibling.

Moreover, Kit played a crucial role in ensuring the vile Nathan Curtis (Christopher Harper) was jailed for the murder of Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton), by planting Lauren's DNA in Nathan's van to frame him.

Since arriving in Weatherfield, Kit has become a fixture on the street, stirring up trouble and drama. He's also formed a professional alliance with fellow officer Craig Tinker (Colson Smith).

In a startling development last month, Kit forced Craig's mother, Beth Tinker (Lisa George), to leave the street after she tried to outsmart him, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Furthermore, Kit has some compromising information on Craig, having learned about Craig's involvement in covering up Faye Windass and Emma Brooker's hit and run incident from 2021, which Kit has been using to his advantage.

Now Coronation Street's Jacob Roberts, known for his role as Kit, hinted that an unexpected character could be the one to expose his antics in the soap.

During a chat with the Express and other media outlets, Jacob was enthusiastic about the dynamic between Kit and Craig Tinker, praising their on-screen friendship.

While speaking on Kit's leverage over Craig, Jacob expressed his excitement: "Yeah, I love that!" He went on to describe their relationship by saying: "In a way it looks like I'm bullying him, or this that and the other, but I think he does like it Craig."

Jacob added: "And I think they are a good combo." He also intriguingly suggested that Craig might be the one to bring Kit to justice, confessing: "I always say to Colson, I bet it's you that gives me my comeuppance."

The actor, who previously played Damon Kinsella in Hollyoaks for six years, joined Corrie earlier this year.

Reflecting on his transition to the Corrie cast, Jacob spoke about his initial awe at joining the iconic show.

He shared: "It's absolutely amazing to be joining the cast of Coronation Street. When I walked on set for the first time it felt a bit overwhelming because the attention to detail is just incredible, it actually makes you feel that you are on a real street."
