Coronation Street has teased the final moments of Lauren Bolton on the popular ITV soap, showing the moments before her apparent murder.

A newly released flashback reveals the moment Lauren is assaulted by her unidentified 'killer', with the full scenes scheduled to be broadcast tonight (Thursday May 30), reports the Mirror. The truth behind Lauren's disappearance in February and the actual events that transpired will finally be unveiled.

Until now, all we've seen of the mysterious assailant is his black clothing and gloved hands, with his face remaining anonymous. A recent trailer provided a first look at him, as well as a peek into Lauren's ordeal as she cried out for help before being seized.

A fresh clip potentially verifies her last moments and how she died, following evidence that surfaced weeks ago. For months, detectives have been certain that Lauren was murdered.

Blood and human tissue were discovered at her flat, which investigators claimed were consistent with head trauma. They also found a blood-stained chair leg they believed to be the murder weapon, while Roy Cropper continues to be incarcerated for a crime he didn't commit.

On Thursday night, the true perpetrator and the circumstances leading to Lauren's disappearance and probable murder will finally be revealed. A new preview depicts the moments after she is seized, pinned to the ground and brutally attacked.

Her hair is yanked back as she lets out a scream, before an unidentified individual forces her head down to the floor. The assailant is then seen picking up a weapon and raising it above Lauren, who appears terrified, presumably fearing for her life.

The clip concludes before we witness what happens next, but it's speculated that this is the moment she was savagely assaulted prior to her disappearance. Joel Deering and Nathan Curtis are the prime suspects to be unveiled as Lauren's attacker, although the soap opera has yet to disclose the culprit.

However fans reckon that Joel being a suspect would be 'too obvious' as they shared other theories on who could be behind Lauren's disappearance. Many Corrie fans are hoping that Lauren will be found alive after being held hostage.
