ITV Coronation Street's Colson Smith supported as 'last day' update sparks fans to plead 'no'

Colson Smith has revealed his stay in Australia for the I'm A Celebrity spin off show is nearing its end. The Coronation Street star, renowned for his role as Craig Tinker, has travelled Down Under for the ITV2 show, I'm A Celebrity Unpacked.

The show is hosted by reigning King of the Jungle, Sam Thompson, and stand up comedian, Joel Dommett. Colson has appeared on the show throughout its first week with the two hosts.

However, he revealed Friday's episode will be his last before he heads home. The soap star has set himself the target of getting a picture with the ITV show's main presenters, Ant and Dec, before he heads back to the UK.

He shared a snap with his 205,000 Instagram followers as he was drenched in the pouring rain. He said: "Unpacked Day 3!! This is not the weather I signed up!!! Tomorrow is my last day, the mission is a picture with my childhood hero’s @antanddec."

Colson's Corrie co-stars took to the comments to send messages of support after the update. Georgia Taylor, who plays Toyah Battersby, said: "You look great darling!"

Other fans wished Craig's stint on the spin off show was continuing throughout the whole season. Dawn said: "No you need to stay! You've been great to watch, well done"

Susan said: "Loved having you on - please sign for longing contract" [sic] Shell commented: "Have the best time even though the weather is crap. Loved you again on unpacked again last night your looking really well too"

Rachele added: "You’ve been amazing." Lea said: "You are looking great Craig. Good stuff on the show x" Fans have been thrilled as the new season of I'm A Celebrity got underway on Sunday.

10 campmates have traded their lives of luxury for the Australian camp. Coleen Rooney, Alan Halsall, Oti Mabuse, Danny Jones, Jane Moore, Tulisa Contostavlos, Danny Jones, Jane Moore, Barry McGuigan, GK Barry and Dean McCullough are currently competing on the show.

Maura Higgins and Reverend Richard Coles are expected to join the camp at a later date. I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here continues tonight on ITV and ITV X at 9pm
