ITV Coronation Street's Mason 'to be killed off' by unlikely resident as exit confirmed
Coronation Street bad boy Mason Radcliffe could be set to get killed off. The soap bully (Luca Toolan) first rocked up last year - and caused plenty of drama. Viewers of the soap were left horrified as they watched him terrorise Maria Connor’s (Samia Longchambon) young son, Liam Connor (Charlie Wrenshall).
And things took a dramatic turn when Mason pulled a knife on Liam. In a heartbreaking twist though, Liam thought about taking his own life. However, in April, Mason was sent to a Young Offenders centre for threatening Liam with the knife. During the trial at court, Dylan bravely stood up to Mason, testifying against him. But over in the soap last month, Mason was back on the cobbles, after getting released from the Young Offenders centre.
His return ruffled plenty of feathers - with Liam and Dylan left shaken. Meanwhile, Stu Carpenter (Bill Fellows) has shown compassion for Mason and managed to get him a job at his restaurant.
The news of Mason working at Speed Daal left several residents angry. But Stu has insisted that he can see Mason is trying to turn his life around.
However, fans fear that Mason could actually be killed off soon, in a huge twist. What’s more, viewers are convinced it will be Stu who puts Mason six feet under.
Sharing their thoughts online, fans pointed out how Stu still has no idea that it was Mason who ran over his granddaughter Eliza in a hit-and-run earlier this year.
And if he were to find out, fans reckon it could lead to Stu “killing Mason in a rage.” Moreover, viewers have also claimed Mason’s death could tie in with the exit of Stu actor Bill Fellows.
This week, it was claimed that Bill had quit the soap after three years. According to reports, he has filmed his final scenes for the long-running ITV programme.
Now, viewers are certain Stu’s exit will see him kill off bad boy Mason, after finding out the truth about his granddaughter’s hit and fun.”
Over on a Corrie Facebook fan page, one person said: “Stu set to leave the cobbles later this year. Talk about giving his granddaughter Eliza's bedroom to Mason.
“He doesn't, however, know it was 'mad Mason' who knocked down Eliza in the hit and run. Could murder be on the cards for Stu and a second prison sentence? This one not a wrongful one,” they mused.
While on X, a second fan wrote: “Imagine if Stu finds out that Mason knocked over Eliza and ends up in prison for actually killing somebody.” A third agreed and penned: “Hope he finds out it was Mason who hit Eliza with the car, kills him in a rage, then flees to Germany.”
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
