ITV Coronation Street's Samia Longchambon flooded with support after special family update

Samia Longchambon was flooded with supportive messages as she celebrated a special family update. The soap star is renowned for her role as Maria Connor on the ITV show.

The 42-year-old joined the cast of the ITV soap in 2000 and has been a mainstay on the show ever since. Samia remains as key to the long-running soap as ever as her son, Liam, has been through a horrific bullying storyline over recent months. The soap star explained how the tough subject has been a rollercoaster of emotions for her character.

Away from the screen, Samia's life is fortunately much less turbulent. She is a proud mum of two and is happily married to Dancing On Ice star, Sylvain Longchambon. The star has taken to the social media platform to reveal her and Sylvain, who met on the ITV skating show, are now celebrating their 8th anniversary.

She said: "8 years as Mr and Mrs Longchambon and 8 years of pronouncing and spelling ‘Longchambon’, there’s nobody I’d rather do this life with other than you @slongchambon .. Happy anniversary to us!"

Samia's Corrie co-stars have taken to the comments to praise the happy couple after their relationship continued to go from strength-to-strength. Jane Danson, who plays Leanne Battersby, said: "The most gorgeous weekend! Happy anniversary guys."

Sally Dynevor, who plays Sally Metcalfe, added: "Happy Anniversary to a very beautiful couple xxx." Andy Whyment, who plays Kirk Sutherland, posted: "Happy Anniversary enjoy your day."

Sally Carman, who plays Abi Webster, said: "Just beautiful. Happy Anniversary to you both." Former Corrie star Michelle Keegan said: "Happy anniversary to you both."

Samia and Sylvain first met on Dancing On Ice in 2013 and they soon fell in love. The happy couple married in 2016 and Samia has previously said how she believes her late father was responsible for bringing Sylvain into her life.

During an appearance on Loose Women, she said: "I believe in angels and I always think my dad sent Sylvain to me." Sylvain and Samia welcomed their first child, Yves, in 2015 and the soap star is also the proud mum of Freya, who she shares with her ex-husband.

Samia has regularly given fans an insight into the amazing home the family of four live in. When the weather's nice, Samia regularly shares snaps of their sprawling garden where she installed a temporary hot tub for a luxurious afternoon.

The garden is a prized feature of the stunning home as the two regularly pose for pictures together. Samia's beautiful home also boasts an expansive open plan kitchen she said had been the site of their cosy New Year's Eve parties .

She has previously shared a snap of the two enjoying a drink alongside the caption: "Decided on the same exclusive venue as last year for NYE , we just always have the best time in our kitchen!"

According to our sister site, Mirror Online, the family’s home also boasts a playroom, with Sylvain recently providing an inside into the play area which was renovated in recent moments. He said: "Kids are really happy with their playroom makeover and we love our chill out family space!” The designated kids area showcases wooden flooring and an expansive collection of toys, including a rocking horse and plenty of Playmobil characters and a farm for the kids to enjoy.

Sylvain and Samia's home also features a nod to the passion for dance that brought them together as they have a monochrome picture of the lift from Dirty Dancing on their walls. The two thrilled fans as they recreated the scene in their garden during the coronavirus lockdown.
