ITV Coronation Street's Sydney Martin shares love for co-star as she's 'so moved' by update

Coronation Street's Sydney Martin was flooded with support after a special career update. The soap star has been a hit with fans since she joined the Cobbles as Betsy Swain.

The character has been at the centre of the drama ever since her bombshell introduction as Sabrina's friend. The troubled character was right at the centre of the long-running Joel Deering saga, which came to an end earlier this month when the villain was found dead.

Betsy continues to wreak havoc as she organised a break in to the Underworld Factory that has had terrible consequences for Carla Connor. Sydney's incredible start to life on the Cobbles has been recognised as she has been nominated for Best Newcomer in the TV Choice Awards.

The 23-year-old is nominated alongside fellow newcomer, Jack Carroll, who plays Bobby Crawford in the show. Fans on social media platform X issued a message of support as Corrie shared one last push to vote for the two stars before the polls closed at the weekend.

One viewer shared a negative comment in response to the post, which was swiftly defended by co-star, Vicky Myers. Sydney was grateful for the support from her onscreen mum, who plays Lisa Swain.

Sydney said: "Love you mama bear." Vicky shot back: "Love you more." Vicky's comment sparked an outpouring of supportive messages, who all heaped praise on the Sydney and the positive impact she has made on the show.
