Yahoo News ITV criticised for 'replacing' Takeaway with this film
ITV has been criticised by Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway fans for supposedly replacing this weekend's pulled episode with an "inappropriate" film.
On Monday (March 19), Ant McPartlin revealed that he would be going back to rehab. One day prior to that, the presenter was arrested on suspicion of drink driving, after his Mini was said to have been involved in a collision with two other cars in London.
Ant and ITV confirmed that popular variety show Saturday Night Takeaway will not be airing on March 24, with The Voice UK taking its 7pm timeslot and a repeat of Through the Keyhole following at 9pm.
But some people were keen to bring attention to the fact that Fast & Furious 5 – a movie which stars Vin Diesel and Paul Walker and features a number of high-speed car chases and crashes – will be shown at 10.15pm.
Somebody at ITV has a dark sense of humour. Saturday Night Takeaway cancelled due to one of the presenters being pulled over for drink driving? Replaced with Fast & Furious 5!
