ITV Emmerdale fans 'sobbing' as 'dead' character returns
In tonight's episode of Emmerdale, Moira Dingle had brain surgery after she was diagnosed with a meningioma brain tumour earlier this year, following weeks of erratic behaviour, which included personality changes, confusion, memory lapses, and seizures.
Moira was anxious before the operation telling husband Cain Dingle "you need to go home" before telling him "it's real complex it's brain surgery, there's real risks." Cain left the hospital as Moira was put to sleep ahead of the procedure.
During the operation, a face from the past returned to screens as Moira and her daughter Holly were reunited. Holly sadly died suddenly in 2016 from a drug overdose. Holly had been clean but took heroin while at a wedding party.

In the emotional scenes aired tonight, actress Sophie Powles reprised her role as Holly Barton as she returned as a figment of Moira's imagination. Moira 'woke up' at home with her young children and was suddenly greeted by Holly.
Moira was in disbelief and asked "Holly are you here?" before reaching out and touching her face as she broke down in tears. Holly told her mum she was "better now" and has "missed" her so much. Fans were in tears as the heartbreaking scenes unfolded.
Holly expresses regret for her death, saying she "messed up". Holly's parting words to her mum are "you were always the best mum", before she fades away and Moira wakes up.
One fan took to X, formerly known as Twitter saying: "Sobbing at Moira and Holly" another added "The whole Moira & Holly dream sequence was so beautiful." Further comments included " Seeing Holly back made me sob."
Some fans were shocked to see the twist with one surprised fan saying: OMG Holly Barton". Other posts included "@emmerdale what a brilliant surprise bringing Holly back. fantastic episode tonight."
