ITV Emmerdale viewers say 'record it' to Belle Dingle amid Tom King plot
Emmerdale fans are calling on Belle Dingle to take action, believing that a "mistake" is stopping Tom King's true nature from being exposed. The villain has been subjecting his wife Belle (played by Eden Taylor-Draper) to a distressing abuse storyline for months, which took a chilling turn this week.
Tom (portrayed by James Chase) has been exercising coercive control over Belle, isolating and manipulating her, affecting her mental health. He escalated to physical violence and attempted to flee with her to Wales, but she managed to escape.
After ending their relationship and asking him to leave, he secretly installed cameras in the house. In addition to spying on her, he deliberately ran over her beloved dog Piper, and then lied to Belle about her death.
Belle immediately suspected Tom had "killed her", while viewers now know that Piper is actually alive, having been taken by Tom to a family outside the village. Tom spitefully accused Belle of abusing the dog, while fans are hoping Piper will find her way back home. However, amidst all the chaos, Belle has had several confrontations with Tom, reports the Manchester Evening News.
After gathering the courage to confront him, she and Tom have exchanged heated words, with him mocking and even threatening her. But with those around her unaware of the full story and doubting her allegations, concerned for her mental health, fans have suggested ways Belle could finally expose Tom as the monster he is, the Mirror reports.
Soap fans are gripped and exasperated with Belle on the show, criticising her for a recurring "mistake" that they believe is obvious. Whenever she has a tense standoff with Tom, he often says something incriminating, potentially exposing all his falsehoods.
Yet, frustratingly, Belle has not caught any of these moments on her phone, despite Tom not checking for such evidence. Viewers point out Belle's significant "error" of not recording Tom's real character to expose his charade.
If Belle could just record Tom revealing his true colours regarding Piper and his intimidations when she tries to leave him, it might turn the plot on its head.
Another person remarked: "Belle's storyline is boring now because she could really just record a conversation with Tom and finish him in minutes."
A third person commented: "Belle should record these interactions! ! " And another asked: "Why did Belle not record any conversation between her and Tom? Especially that last conversation! ? ".
