ITV Emmerdale's Chas and Liam in danger as soap expert warns 'watch out'

Emmerdale fans could be fearing for Chas Dingle and Liam Cavanagh in upcoming scenes.

Soap watchers will recall that Liam's ex Ella Forster returned to the village over the summer after her killer secret was exposed and she scarpered, leaving then love interest Liam rocked.

Upon her return, Ella learnt she was pregnant, leaving Liam utterly stunned. However, in a heartbreaking twist during a scan, no foetus could be found.

Ella and Liam briefly rekindled their romance but Liam abruptly dumped her, realising he still had feelings for ex Chas whom he had dated before Ella.

Ella is still left hurt and confused by being dumped as she remains unaware that Liam has secretly moved on with Chas with the duo keeping their rekindled romance on the down low.

However, with Ella having killed her best friend when she was a child and attacking Wendy Posner over the summer, viewers are worried she won't take the news of her ex moving on well.

Appearing on Wednesday's This Morning, soap expert Sharon Marshall teased Emmerdale's spoilers for next week to which host Cat Deeley said: "Chas and Liam are in danger?"

To which Sharon explained: "They are because they're together and declaring love, of course his ex is someone who has killed someone before when she's jealous.... so watch out for Ella, is she about to find out the truth?"

It comes as soap watchers think Ella might accidentally kill Leyla Harding thinking it's Chas. It comes amid reports that Roxy Shahidi, who has been portraying Leyla since 2008, is rumoured to be exiting the soap after an impressive 16 years.

Taking to social media, one person said: "So will Layla be killed by Ella as she thinks from behind that she is Chas? Mistaken identity #emmerdale" while a different account wrote: "Maybe that is how Leyla dies. Ella mistakenly believes it's her Liam is seeing?"

Ella joined the ITV soap earlier this year and is portrayed by actress Paula Lane. Outside of her new role in Emmerdale, Paula is best known for playing Kylie Platt on Coronation Street from 2010 to 2016.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
