ITV Emmerdale's Tom King's comeuppance 'confirmed' after star's three-word remark
Emmerdale's Eden Taylor-Draper has suggested that the end is nigh for villain Tom King. Devotees will remember, the malevolent Tom (James Chase) has been tormenting and manipulating his wife Belle for a considerable period. She has since disclosed the truth to her family and severed ties with Tom, eager to break free from his grip.
However, events took a shocking twist last week when Tom accosted Belle at her residence and assaulted her. Armed with a firearm, Belle fled as Tom pursued her around the village, eventually locating her in a deserted flat.
After hacking through the door, he readied himself to shoot Belle. However, she retaliated by stabbing Tom in the back with an axe, before fleeing.
After sharing her ordeal with Lydia (Karen Blick), Sam (James Hooton) and Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson), the family devised a plan to conceal the body. Nevertheless, Tom was ultimately discovered and hastily taken to hospital, reports Leeds Live.
He was reported to have a punctured lung and internal haemorrhaging, and was sent for a scan. It was subsequently revealed that Tom had survived - leaving Belle distraught, aware that if Tom regains consciousness, he will seek retribution.
But now, Belle's portrayer Eden has seemingly confirmed that Tom's reign of terror may soon be over. On Monday (September 30), Eden made an appearance on ITV's This Morning.
When asked by co-host Ben Shephard if Tom will face his just desserts, Eden responded in a mysterious manner: "I hope so."
Eden, who has been playing the beloved character Belle since 2005, further commented: "And I think to do the story right, and to show that justice can be done."
The actress also expressed her thoughts on the distressing storyline, confessing: "It is exhausting not just for me and James, but for everyone. When you're there seven to seven shooting scenes it's like 'wow.'".
She continued: "But the passion for getting it right, is what drives us, and we are so passionate about it. And it's the most rewarding storyline."
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
