Coleen Rooney shared her husband's fear as she was confirmed for the I'm A Celebrity line-up. The 38-year-old has been married to former Everton FC striker Wayne Rooney since 2008.

The mum-of-four announced tonight she will be travelling Down Under for TV's toughest entertainment challenge. Coleen said she doesn't have any phobias but admitted it will be tough to be away from her family.

However, she has her family's full support but revealed her husband did show some concern about her every move in the camp being on camera. She said: "Wayne is supportive. He did say, 'You know you are going to be on camera 24/7?' but I said, 'Yeah that's the show!!. He is fine with it all."

Coleen said she has been asked for many years to take part in the show and revealed why she has now finally decided to take the plunge. She added: "It has been year after year I have been asked to go on a programme and it's always been a straight no.

She added: "Over the years, there have been different things going on in my life and also, my children have been really young. But they are at an age now where I can go away for this length of time.

"I also feel it's time to have a challenge for me and do something different. It has taken many, many years but I'm finally doing it. And I have always said if I was going to do one - then it would be this show. I think it will be good for me."

Coleen said she wants to go on the show to "dispel misconceptions" the public may have on her. However, she is also determined to go as far in the contest as possible.

She added: "Of course it would be lovely to win. But if I don't, then I will get to see the kids! Whatever I do in life, I like to put my all into it and so if I am going in there, it would be nice to stay until the end.

Why would I go in there and then want to come out after week one? I want to go as far as I can but perhaps more importantly I have spoken with others who have taken part and they have all said that it was an experience that was a once in a lifetime opportunity and will probably never come again so wanted to get the most out of it, so I am excited to be a part of it"

She continued: "I am really looking forward to I'm A Celebrity now and I hope I can make my family proud - no pressure!""
