ITV I'm a Celebrity's Danny Jones in tears as he opens up to campmates
McFly star Danny Jones has opened up about his mental health in the latest episode of I'm A Celebrity. The singer was asked by Loose Women's Jane Moore whether there’s a story to his tattoos.
Reading one on his chest which says “the day’s worthwhile when you make someone smile” the 38-year-old revealed that’s what his Grandad always said. He also pointed to a tattoo on his wrists which says, "Don’t worry, be happy" and gave the reason for them as he is "always constantly worrying" but it's something he is working on.
Presenter Jane also shared a tattoo story, adding: “When I was about 18, I thought I’m gonna get a bluebird on my bum. They just did the outline and I went ‘too painful, thanks’, and I just left. So I’ve just got this outline. It's like a golden eagle now because my a**e has got bigger!"

Danny shared more about his mental health, telling campmates he has been in therapy since he was about 19 for anxiety. He recalled having a panic attack once on live TV while being interviewed, he said: “I was freaking out and I couldn’t answer the question that got asked to me.”
When Jane asked whether he thought he had it from being a kid, or due to being in a band he told her “I think I escaped a lot”. Danny broke down in tears as other campmates supported him.
Singer, Tulisa said: “It’s really good to let it out and it’s really brave to be vulnerable, people respect it.” Dancer Oti Mabuse added: “I think it’s really good that you keep saying people must talk, especially young boys. I don’t think young boys tend to talk that much and the suicide rate is so high in young men especially, so I think it’s important that you keep telling people to talk about it.”
Oti also opened up to the camp as she discussed her own continues struggles when talking about her brother who had committed suicide when he was 16, in a heartbreaking admission. She said: "I think if he had spoken to someone about what he was feeling, it would’ve been a different turnout.”
The dad-of-one was flooded with support by campmates who embraced him and viewers on social media. One fan's reaction was: "Danny Jones talking openly about his anxiety is so important. It takes real courage for men to speak about mental health".
Another stated: "Danny Jones talking so openly about anxiety and his journey just shows that it is so important for men to speak up about their mental health & feelings, it honestly takes so much courage to do."
