ITV Masked Singer fans 'solved' Pufferfish's identity minutes into show

ITV The Masked Singer viewers believe they have "solved" the identify of Pufferfish. Fans speculated on who they believe is hiding behind the costume with all signs pointing towards famous singers.

The reality singing competition returned tonight with the celebrities going undercover to belt out their favourite tracks. Every week viewers and the panel of judges are issued subtle clues that can lead to the singer's unmasking.

Pufferfish's identity may already be rumbled with fans online confidently sharing their suspicions online. X user Bex said: "Think I’ve solved PufferFish… Samantha Barks." Samantha is best known for her stage performances in musicals such as Les Miserables, Frozen and Pretty Woman.

Darren said: "I think pufferfish is someone who is used to the stage." Darren later suggested Pufferfish could be actress Hayden Panettier, UK personality Stacey Solomon, or talk show panelist Kelly Osbourne.

Sheila said: "My instant instinct was that Pufferfish is Miley Cyrus and after rewatching I’m going with it. I know it’s a big shout but that’s a big star."

The general consensus is that Pufferfish is an American celebrity and no stranger to singing. Despite the confident guesses, some fans are still left clueless on Pufferfish's identity.

Another user said: "Pufferfish is one of many contestants that I have no idea who she is, and her voice was unrecognisable. She could sounds like someone else, from Paula Cole to MARINA to Katy Perry, maybe it could be anyone of them. I have to see her second clues."

Thomas said: "Let me shut this down real quick. Pufferfish is not Chris Colfer. It doesn't sound a thing like him and also as the song went on you could tell it was clearly a woman's voice. So yes stop guessing Chris as it's not him. Also he doesn't sing anymore so yeah sorry."

Last week fans believe Pufferfish could be none other than Katy Perry. One of the clues, ‘Dazzled by all the stars’, caused viewers to believe it could be a reference to Katy’s feature on 3OH!3’s song ‘Starstrukk’, which was one of the 40-year-old’s first collaborative hits.
