ITV This Morning's Alison Hammond shares brutal workout routine that transformed her life
This Morning favourite Alison Hammond has opened up in a raw admission about her health struggles at her highest weight of 28 stone, revealing that she felt like she was 'really dying'. The much-admired TV personality, aged 49, managed to shed an impressive 11 stone following a lifestyle overhaul.
Alison's transformation came at the cost of intense dedication, incorporating both a strict diet and strenuous exercise routine. Recently, she offered fans on Instagram a glimpse into her exhausting training regime, which includes activities such as weightlifting and boxing.
Alison's personal trainer first shared a video montage of her workout on his own Instagram, which Alison then reposted to her Stories. The footage presents her engaging in various exercises including lifting, boxing, and utilising kettlebells and medicine balls.
The original post's caption boasted: "The Queen in today, short on time so quick 45-minute circuit and done! "
Her response to the video was simply a black heart emoji, but her followers heaped on the encouragement. One enthused: "Alison looks freaking amazing @alisonhammond55 get it girl [fire emojis] I need to join you," while another fan expressed motivation, saying: "This has just given me the motivation I needed. Thank you @alisonhammond55 and @luimancini."
Additionally, last week Hammond delved into a personal challenge on-air, sharing her 'embarrassment' regarding the necessity to purchase two plane tickets during her travels before losing weight. Co-hosting with Dermot O'Leary, the pair led a segment debating if passengers who are overweight should have to buy an extra seat, reports the Mirror.
Alison Hammond, joined by Tom Swarbrick and Gyles Brandreth, opened up about her weight loss journey, revealing that she used to buy two plane tickets due to her size. She confessed that at her heaviest, she weighed nearly 28 stone, which prompted a significant lifestyle change.
She shared: "I was nearly 28 stone I'll be honest with you and that is morbidly obese and I used to buy an extra seat because I didn't want to put anyone in a situation where I was touching them."
Recalling a specific incident, Alison said: "I was made to feel uncomfortable on one occasion when I was so close to someone's seat and they asked to move but they ended up moving me into first class."
"It was embarrassing the whole thing and from that moment I just started buying two seats. I don't do it anymore because I've lost a bit of timber but not everyone can afford to do that."
During the discussion, Alison admitted she "was in a situation where I was morbidly obese". The TV personality concluded: "I had to lose weight because I was dying, I really was dying. People will still say I'm big but now I'm 17 stone rather than 28 stone and I'm comfortable with telling you my weight."
