ITV’s ‘My Mum Your Dad’ has begun airing its second series which features a mother and daughter from Surrey.

Maria and Livia, 51 and 19, appeared in the first episode of the new series on Monday, September 16. Daughter Livia will be tasked with setting up dates for her mother Maria in the coming episodes of the show, hosted by Davina McCall. ‘

'My Mum Your Dad’ has been referred to as a ‘middle-aged Love Island’ and will stream ten episodes. During the show, the single parents will reside in a country house in Midhurst, West Sussex, whilst the children watch from behind a screen.

Events coordinator and radio presenter, Maria, from Surrey, said: “My dating life had been a shambles this last year or two, so I thought why not! There was an ad on the radio, and I thought that would be fun to do with my daughter, Livia, as she’s quite a character. I didn’t think she’d be up for it to be honest!”

Beauty therapist Livia has described her mum as ‘fussy’ and hopes she will enjoy socialising on the show, whether or not it leads to a romantic connection. Livia described her mum as: “Outgoing, positive, energetic and open.”

She added: “Just crazy! Doesn’t act her age. If I was in control of her dating bio I’d put ‘50 going on 20’! She couldn’t stand someone always complaining and being negative. (She wants someone to be) Smart with a good work ethic and creative, someone with an open mind.”

The pair seem to have had a very positive time recording the show. Livia said: “I was in tears when I had to leave! We all got really close because we were all in the same boat. Within half an hour we all got on so well. Watching [my] mum was really good but embarrassing, sometimes I wish I could talk to her through the TV!”

The mother-daughter duo were joined by other duo's from across the UK including London, Bristol and Staffordshire. Episode two of this season’s ‘My Mum Your Dad’ will air tonight at 9pm on ITV1 with the remaining episodes shown every weekday at 9pm.
