After Love Island's summer 2020 and winter 2021 series was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, The Cabins premiered earlier this year to fill the gap and quickly became the ITV Hub's most popular entertainment show, with over 400,000 streams and more than 800,000 hours of watch time.
The series follows a group of contestants who move in together in their cabins on their first date and spend the next 24 hours getting to know each other before deciding if they want to continue with the connection or not.
Throughout the show's first series, viewers saw love blossom between Charlotte and Sarah, who became the first couple to stay for four days and leave as an official 'Cabins Couple'.
With season 2 now officially on the cards, viewers can expect to see more first dates, more awkward silences and hopefully some new romances on the cards too.
Speaking about the new series, Paul Mortimer, ITV Head of Digital Channels and Acquisitions, said: "The Cabins proved to be a great success amongst our target young audience, and we're hoping cupid's arrow can find its way back to the lodge when we debut our second series on ITV2 and ITV Hub in 2022."
"We were delighted that The Cabins launched so well on ITV2 and The ITV Hub and are very much looking forward to producing an even more exciting, ambitious and love struck second series," Michael Mannes, Managing Director of 12 Yard, added.
Meanwhile, ITV2 also confirmed on Monday (April 26) that it will be launching another new dating series to be hosted by comedian Katherine Ryan.
Ready to Mingle will follow the journey of a single woman as she looks for her ideal partner among 12 men, and they will all be given the chance to impress her and win her over while also competing for a big cash prize. The show is set to air later this year.
The Cabins will return to ITV2 and ITV Hub in 2022.
