ITV's Ant and Dec 'unbeatable' as hosts set to see off rivals for major award

Ant and Dec are being backed to extend their winning run at the National Television Awards to an incredible 23 years, as experts predict that the Geordie duo will once again emerge victorious at this year's event.

You need to go back to 2001 for the first time the much loved hosts took home the Best Presenter prize at the annual event, just as they were coming to an end of their stint at the helm of much loved Saturday morning programme SMTV Live and had landed a job with the BBC on primetime game show Friends Like These.

Ever since then no other star has been able to dethrone Ant and Dec as their CV expanded to include the likes of ITV smashes Pop Idol, I'm A Celebrity and Britain's Got Talent. A few years ago the pair launched their own game show, Limitless Win, as well as bringing back Saturday Night Takeaway for a final run and, having been on screen for much of the last 12 months, they are tipped to win again in 2024.

Over the years, Ant and Dec have seen off big names like Graham Norton, Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross and the late Paul O'Grady to maintain their unbeaten streak in the Presenter category at the NTAs and this year are on a shortlist with The Traitors' Claudia Winkleman, Alison Hammond of This Morning and Bake Off fame; The Chadse's Bradley Walsh and Stacey Solomon who is up for the award thanks to her BBC series Sort Your Life Out.

But, despite the popularity of their rivals, bookies believe that it will once again be Ant and Dec who end up on the winner's podium, with them the clearr frontrunners with Sportscasting.com/uk on 1/6. Claudia, also one half of Strictly's hosting duo, is seen as their nearest rival, but is still way behind on 7./1, with former X Factor finalist Stacey the outsider on 20/1.

This year's ceremony will take place at London's famous O2 Arena on September 11, with fans having until noon on the day to cast their votes.
