I've seen Newcastle's other new unreleased Adidas kits and I'm really happy

Anthony Gordon 'can't wait' to wear Newcastle United's new Adidas kits after being left 'really happy' with how they turned out.

Newcastle launched their new home strip and training wear last week as the Magpies teamed up with Adidas for the first time since 2009. Demand was such that hundreds of fans waited in line at the club shop last Friday and season ticket holder Kenny Trainer even queued for eight hours to be the first to get his hands on it.

It is just the start, of course, with away and third kits to follow this summer. Former Nike and Puma designer Craig Buglass consulted on the shirts and, having seen all three of the 'amazing' strips, the Geordie previously told ChronicleLive that the fans will be 'absolutely blown away'. Gordon, who was among the first of the players to offer his thoughts, echoed those sentiments.

"I'm really excited," he told Sky Sports. "The new collaboration with Adidas is going to be electric for the fans and just to see it in the stadium and back at Newcastle is going to be an amazing feeling.

"I've seen the kits so I'm really happy with how they turned out. I can't wait to wear them next season."

Before that campaign gets under way, in August, there is the small matter of the Euros and Gordon and Kieran Trippier flew out to Germany with their England team-mates yesterday. The Three Lions take on Serbia in their group opener in Gelsenkirchen on Sunday.
