Manchester City ace Jack Grealish and his girlfriend Sasha Attwood have revealed they are expecting their first child together.

The sports star took to Instagram to share the joyous news, posting a picture of him embracing his pregnant partner from behind, both hands lovingly placed on her baby bump.

The footballer couldn't hide his excitement about becoming a dad for the first time this year, captioning the post: "Life's biggest blessing." His childhood sweetheart echoed the sentiment on her own account, sharing the same photo with the caption: "Half of me , half of you - beyond blessed."

The pair have been an item since their school days in Solihull, reports the Mirror.

Their relationship has stood the test of time, despite his demanding professional career, from his early days at Aston Villa to his big move to Manchester City for a whopping £100million in 2021.

Attwood herself is a successful model, having worked with big brands like L'Oreal, House of Fraser, Pretty Little Thing and Boohoo. She has also been a pillar of support for Grealish during a challenging season marked by injuries and his exclusion from the England squad for Euro 2024.

Despite his surprise at being left out of the tournament, Grealish has taken the opportunity to be there for Attwood during her pregnancy. The couple have yet to reveal when their bundle of joy is due to arrive.

Gareth Southgate, the England boss, defended his decision not to include Jack Grealish in his squad ahead of their semi-final match against the Netherlands. Acknowledging England's so-so run in the tournament thus far, particularly in attack.

Southgate mentioned that while he recognized the unique talents Grealish and James Maddison bring to the table, he highlighted: "The fact is we've got some players who have been playing extremely well all season in the league and we just feel other players have had stronger seasons - particularly in the past six months or so,".

He went on to say: "We saw some fantastic performances the other night which underlined some of that and in the attacking area of the pitch we're blessed with a lot of options and they're all slightly different."

On the tough calls between picking certain players over others, Southgate admitted: "[James Maddison] and Jack [Grealish] would have provided us with something different as well and they've been tough calls. They're calls we've gone over and over and over as a group of staff to try to be fair and to try to use the right rationale.

"We back our decisions but we recognise we could have gone a different route. The boys are big characters, fabulous team-mates and great boys to work with. It's sad to have to deliver that news to them."
