I'm a Celebrity star Jack Maynard is facing allegations that he sent inappropriate messages to a teenage fan.

The messages, posted by The Mirror, have surfaced following speculation surrounding the vlogger's sudden departure from the ITV reality show on Tuesday (November 11).

At the time, his exit was explained as being "due to circumstances outside camp".

In a conversation on social media in 2011, when Maynard was 17, he asked the girl who was 14 at the time – although it is believed he had no idea of her age – for a photo of her in a bra.

"Send me one you might send?" he wrote. "Your boobs are so nice! Would look good in a bra shot. Ever taken one?"

She refused three times, and after she told him that she did not feel comfortable sending photos because she doesn't know him, Maynard responded by calling her an "ugly freak".

The girl, speaking to The Mirror, said: "I just thought it was annoying and rude for him to keep pestering me about it. I'm glad I never sent anything.

"I looked up to Jack as a role model, and I found his persistence annoying. But I saw it as relatively harmless flirting given the small age gap.

"The thing that most upset me about the messages was when he turned on me – I didn't see any need for that at all."

Digital Spy has reached out to Maynard's reps for comment.

The allegations come after a number of offensive tweets surfaced from the vlogger's Twitter account earlier this week, in which he used racial and homophobic slurs.

On Tuesday, Maynard's rep released a statement explaining why he left the jungle.

"In the last few days Jack Maynard has been the subject of a succession of media stories which, given his position as a contestant on I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here – filmed in the Australian jungle, with no contact with the outside world, he has been unable to respond to," it read.

"Since it is only fair that everyone should be aware of any allegations made against them and should also have the right to defend themselves, it was agreed that it would be better to bring him out of the show."

I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here airs on ITV at 9pm.
