Jack Whitehall's action comedy Bounty Hunters returning
Jack Whitehall will continue to be the UK's unlikeliest action hero.
The comedian has scored a surprise hit with his action-comedy series Bounty Hunters, which has become Sky One's biggest sitcom launch in more than six years.
On the back of that huge success, Sky One has officially commissioned a second series of Bounty Hunters, with Jack Whitehall reprising his role as the amateur badass Barnaby Walker.
Also returning is American star Rosie Perez, who plays Barnaby's cold-blooded partner in crime Nina Morales. From the sounds of Sky's big announcement, these two unlikely bounty hunters are in for even more dangerous hijinx next series.
A synopsis for the return of Bounty Hunters reads: "Series two of the comedy thriller from writing team Jack Whitehall and Freddy Syborn will see Barnaby (Jack Whitehall) and Nina (Rosie Perez) back with a bang – quite literally – ready for more adventures and scrapes in the second instalment of this hit show."
As mentioned, Bounty Hunters is a collaboration between Jack Whitehall and writer Freddy Syborn, with whom he previously worked on hit sitcom Bad Education and its spin-off The Bad Education Movie.
The duo are also collaborating with Sky on the one-off special Urban Myths: When Bowie Met Bolan, in which Whitehall will play legendary T Rex rocker Marc Bolan opposite stage veteran Luke Treadaway as the Thin White Duke.
While we wait for both outrageous comedies to return to Sky, take a look back at the first series of Bounty Hunters below:
