Jacob the comfort dog has now helped support survivors at three different mass shootings
This is the adorable dog who’s helping survivors of Wednesday’s Florida high school shooting cope with their ordeal.
Jacob is a golden retriever and professional comfort dog, whose harness bears the slogan ‘please pet me’.
The pup was pictured at a vigil at Parkridge Church yesterday (Thursday) helping those affected by the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland.
This is Jacob. In June of 2016, he comforted those affected by the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando. Four months ago he flew to Vegas to help families of 58 people grieve. His handler Mike Flaherty told First Coast News: “We found that kids do better petting a dog than they do talking to a counsellor. It calms people down.”
And this isn’t the first time the cute pooch has been at the scene of a major tragedy.
