Jaden Moodie death: Man charged with boy's murder

An 18-year-old man has been charged with murder in connection to London schoolboy Jaden Moodie's death.

Ayoub Majdouline, of no fixed address but of the Wembley area, was charged on Saturday, police said.

Jaden, 14, died after he was stabbed to death in Leyton on January 8 in what police believe was a targeted attack.

He was knocked off his moped by five men in a black Mercedes B class, police said, before being stabbed at least seven times.

Police said Majdouline will appear at Thames Magistrates' Court on Monday.

The teenager was detained on Saturday morning at an address in Wembley, north west London, Scotland Yard said, and was later charged in the evening.

Jaden has been described as "loving and caring" by family memebrs.

Relatives said the youngster used to live in Nottingham and had recently moved to London.

Detective Chief Inspector Chris Soole, from the Met Police's homicide and major crime command, said the Met remain "fully focused on locating and arresting others connected to this deadly atack.

"Our efforts to bring them to justice continues. A number of active enquiries are in hand."

Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are continuing to investigate Jaden's murder and would appeal for anyone with information, who has yet to come forward, to call police.
