A “dangerous” rapist who attacked a vulnerable teenage girl and told her she “shouldn’t run away because he had one leg” has been jailed.

Mohammed Farah met his 15-year-old victim, with whom he had a mutual friend, in Stratford, east London, on October 2 last year.

The teenager, who told police she knew her attacker as “Mo”, asked the 38-year-old to stop when he began touching her as the pair talked and drank beer together in a secluded square.

Farah, of Hurstbourne Gardens, Barking, said he wouldn’t do anything more but told his victim, who cannot be named, not to run away “as he only had one leg”, Southwark crown court heard.

He then raped the girl and threatened to kill her if she told anyone about the attack.

Police were called to an address in Waltham Forest two weeks later where the victim reported that she had been raped in Torrens Sqaure.

She described Farah as having one leg with his hair styled in cane rolls.

The rapist was arrested the following day but initially denied ever meeting the teenager.

However, CCTV footage showed them walking towards the scene of the attack on the same day.

Farah was jailed for nine years and handed a 10-year sexual offences prevention order at the same court on Friday following a trial.

Detective Constable Sarah Towe from the Met Police branded Farah “dangerous” and said he “used his disability to gain the trust of an extremely vulnerable girl”.

She added: “Farah is a dangerous individual who preyed on an extremely vulnerable girl and used his disability to gain her trust. Believing she was safe in his company, the girl went with Farah to a secluded area where he then raped her.

“Farah denied all involvement in this case until CCTV was produced which disproved his original defence.

“I am pleased that a dangerous rapist is now behind bars.”
