Jake Johnson isn't sure whether he's back for Beyond the Spider-Verse
Spider-Man star Jake Johnson doesn't know if he'll be returning for the franchise's upcoming threequel, Beyond the Spider-Verse.
The actor voices the older, more dishevelled Peter Parker in the popular animated film series, who later becomes a mentor to Miles Morales (Shameik Moore).
Speaking to ComicBook.com, Johnson revealed that he'd love to return for another adventure, but doesn't know what the future will hold.

"I love Peter B. Parker. I will say this: I would be so sad if I got a call that Peter B. Parker is not returning to the Spider-Verse, because I feel really attached to that character," he said.
He continued: "[Spider-Verse producer] Phil [Lord] and I will go out, or we'll text a lot, and I'm always pitching on Peter B., and I'm trying to fight to honour him," adding that he wants to ensure "he's funny, but he's our Spider-Man."
The New Girl actor concluded by sharing the lasting effect the role has had on him, saying: "He means something and we always go back, and he means a lot to me as a character. I love playing him."

Following last year's SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes, Beyond the Spider-Verse won't be released in March as originally planned. Producer and writer Christopher Miller recently confirmed that production for the film has officially resumed.
"We're really excited about where the story is going. I think it's a very satisfying conclusion to the trilogy and it's as emotional as the other ones. We're knee-deep in it," he said.
The cast for Beyond the Spider-Verse has yet to be confirmed. Alongside Johnson and Moore, stars of the previous instalments include Hawkeye's Hailee Steinfeld, Dune's Oscar Isaac, Barbie's Issa Rae, Black Panther's Daniel Kaluuya and Fargo's Jason Schwartzman.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is available to buy from Prime Video, iTunes, Microsoft Store and more in the UK.
