Jamal Edwards died of heart attack after taking recreational drugs, says Brenda Edwards

DJ and music producer Jamal Edwards died from a heart attack after taking recreational drugs, his mother confirmed on Tuesday as she called for “more conversation” about the use of illegal substances.Edwards was the founder of SBTV, an online urban music platform which helped launch the careers of artists like Dave, Ed Sheeran, Jessie J and Skepta.The DJ and rapper died at the age of 31 from a “sudden illness” at his home in Acton in February.
