Jamal Musiala response to Man United's Fulham win sums up dream start
Jamal Musiala responded to Manchester United’s victory over Fulham at Old Trafford on Friday evening.
The Bayern Munich man had a match of his own on the same evening - he played 63 minutes in the Bavarian's 0-4 victory over Ulm in the DFB-Pokal first round. His former Bayern teammate Joshua Zirkzee scored the winning goal on his debut at new club United following a move from Serie A outfit Bologna - where he scored 11 goals in 34 appearances last term.
The 21-year-old German commented two ‘fire emojis’ to show his support for Zirkzee - who posted several photographs to Instagram marking his first appearance with the caption: “Great start. Thanks Old Trafford for the warm welcome!”

The pair were spotted on holiday together over the course of the summer which fuelled speculation that Zirkzee could convince Musaila to make the switch to England - however, there is no indication that this was the case.
The German international sports experience of English football having played at Chelsea’s academy during his youth career. With two seasons left on his contract, his name will be connected with several rumours until he either signs a new contract or joins a new club - Bayern would command a huge fee for the 21-year-old if he was to depart.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the victory, Zirkzee expressed his delight at registering his first goal in front of the United faithful, he said: “I’ve been told it’s one of the best feelings at Man United. I’m so thankful and blessed [that] I could experience it in my first game. It’s an amazing feeling.
“At the end of the day, we got the win. That’s all we wanted. I can’t really explain the feeling; it’s just very nice. I feel very warm here. We want to achieve something great. It’s been amazing – it’s been a dream, actually.”
