James Argent says 'loneliness' caused his relapse
James Argent says 'loneliness' caused his recent relapse into alcohol.
The Only Way is Essex star had been sober for two years before a relapse last month which resulted in paramedics being called to his house.
Appearing on Loose Women, Argent opened up about the causes of his relapse and his struggles with drugs and alcohol in general.
"I'm an extrovert," he told the panel before adding: "A lot of people’s chaos can be from being out all the time… my chaos starts when I’m indoors, alone, bored, lonely. Too much time on my hands."

Argent said a lot of his problems come from living alone in a big house: "I’m in there in this beautiful house all alone. No girlfriend, no-one to live with me."
The reality star also admitted that he could no longer comfort eat since his gastric band surgery so didn't have another vice to tackle the cravings for alcohol.
He assured hosts Coleen Nolan, Kelle Bryan, Ruth Langsford and Carol McGiffin that he was working on addressing his loneliness and his cravings for food and alcohol.
Argent has previously said that the relapse occurred after going out with some friends to a comedy show. After a binge of alcohol, paramedics were called to his house with concern for his welfare.
He was checked over but it was determined he did not need hospital treatment and was allowed to remain at home.
Since the relapse, Argent has been going to a walk-in rehab centre six days a week.
He has previously attended rehab several times since 2014, when he was suspended from The Only Way is Essex for failing a drugs test.
Argent was an original cast member on The Only Way is Essex and starred on the show between 2010 and 2018 when his contract was not extended.
Since then he has appeared on Celebrity Coach Trip.
