James Argent: What really happened during 'overdose' drama

James Argent has told his side of the story on last week’s “overdose” chaos, and says he is in therapy for his biggest problem - his eating disorder.

The former Towie star was at the centre of an emergency services drama last week when a misunderstanding over him not answering the phone to on/off girlfriend Gemma Collins lead to two police cars and an ambulance crew forcing entry to his home.

Arg explained to OK! magazine that Collins was concerned at not being able to reach him because of his previous issues with drugs.

He said: "I didn’t have my phone on me because it was charging downstairs. I have put her through a lot so I completely understand her worry.

"She remembers what she’s been through in the past with me so she thought the worst."

Arg continued that he had been upstairs in his loft conversion so hadn’t heard police and paramedics knocking on the door, and that they had to force entry because he had the front door bolted.

He admitted to being “really shocked and confused” when they appeared in his room, but said that the misunderstanding was quickly cleared up.

Saying that he wasn’t currently in a relationship with Collins, Arg spoke about how much they cared for each other and said he would not rule out another reconciliation in the future.

He added: "My biggest problem is my eating disorder. I have always struggled with it since my teens.

"When I’m in a bad place I binge eat, and when I put on weight it then triggers more issues.”

The Sink or Swim star, who currently weighs 21-and-a-half stone, said he was working with his therapist to change his relationship with food.

Arg has been suspended from Towie twice for failing drugs tests and his previous relationship with another co-star Lydia Bright allegedly ended when she caught him taking drugs.
