James Arthur Reaches Out To X Factor Pal Jahméne Douglas After He Opens Up About Suicidal Thoughts
James Arthur spent yesterday morning reaching out to fellow X Factor contestant Jahméne Douglas after he posted and emotional message, in which he revealed he was suffering from suicidal thoughts and depression.
On Thursday night Jahméne posted a note to fans on Twitter in which he revealed he struggled with dark thoughts and that he wanted to die.

‘I don’t know what to do anymore,’ he wrote. 'My mind is plagued with suicidal thoughts whenever my defenses are down. I feel so broken, lost and worthless.’
'It doesn’t seem to matter how much I try to fix myself, who I talk to or what I put in place, it always comes back to this.’
Friends and fans alike were obviously hugely concerned following the post, and none more so than James Arthur – who himself has been open about his struggles with depression in the past.
The pair were both finalists in the 2012 series of The X Factor and have remained friends ever since.
On Friday morning, James – who’s been enjoying huge chart success in the past twelve months – tweeted Jahméne and revealed he’d been trying to speak to him on the phone:
'Brother, I’m here for you,’ he wrote. 'Answer your phone. I know what you’re going through. Pick up’.
With friends like James, we’ve got a feeling that Jahméne will get through this.
Sending big hugs to you, JD x
