James Blunt has hit back at a Twitter troll who asked him how he managed to get an invite to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding.

The former chart-topper was among a number of big name stars to attend the nuptials at Windsor Castle last weekend, alongside David and Victoria Beckham, George and Amal Clooney, James Corden and Oprah Winfrey.

But some viewers seemed confused as to why the You’re Beautiful hitmaker was invited and questioned his royal connections.

In a since-deleted tweet, one person asked: “Who invited James Blunt to the royal wedding?”

Quoting the tweet and replying, Blunt simply wrote: “I'll give you two guesses.”

Blunt has known both Prince Harry and Prince William since they were teenagers and they have all remained close friends.

The pop star even served alongside Prince Harry in the same army regiment and was personally invited by him to attend the Invictus Games in 2014.

Blunt performed hit You’re Beautiful at the closing ceremony and dedicated it to the prince, saying: “This song is for someone very special who organised this event, Prince Harry.”

He attended the royal wedding with wife Sofia Wellesley, who he married back in 2014.

The Beckhams also became a talking point as they arrived at the castle last Saturday, with some viewers mocking fashion designer Victoria for her failure to smile.

“C'mon Posh. Surely there's worse places to be on a Saturday morning. #royalwedding,” one person wrote on Twitter.
