James Charles and Tati Westbrook drama: 'Embarrassed' Jeffree Star apologises for 'inserting' himself into feud

YouTuber Jeffree Star has apologised for slamming James Charles and branding him a “danger to society” as he waded into the Tati Westbrook drama.

Star, a popular vlogger, released a video on Sunday night titled Never Doing This Again and addressed his recent behaviour amid the Charles and Tati Westbrook drama, which started earlier this month when Westbrook alleged that her former friend had been "manipulating people's sexuality."

'I don't want to play the games anymore. I sat there yesterday, and I started to get really angry,” Star told his subscribers.

“I was going to pull voice memos, I was gonna pull old text messages from other people that don’t want to be involved. I was just getting into a place where it wasn’t healthy.

“Thank god I’m in the head space that I am in today because I stopped those feelings. I let them all subside, and I understand that that now is not okay.”

Star explained to his fans that he didn’t want to “fuel this fire bigger for entertainment” and recognised he had “inserted himself into something publicly where he shouldn’t have”.

“I’m done doing that... This has to stop. I’m embarrassed by my own actions,” he added.

Westbrook, a former friend of Charles, appeared to put the drama to bed as well shortly after the video as she told Twitter followers that she would “not be making any further public comments” in a lengthy statement.

“I have been in communication with James Charles through an intermediary for the last week,” she wrote. “And we believe that it is in the best interest of our community, our viewers and our own mental health to put this matter to rest.”

Charles also addressed the recent furore with his own tweet, writing: “Thank you @jeffreestar & @glamlifeguru for your sentiments. I am on board to move on, will not speak about this further, but do hope to speak in the future when we’re all ready.

“This week was awful for all of us and I ask that the community focuses on positivity moving forward.”
