James Corden attacks Donald Trump's coronavirus response with Paul McCartney parody

James Corden roasted Donald Trump on The Late Late Show over the US President's comments on his coronavirus diagnosis.

The British comedian took aim at Trump with a musical parody cover of Paul McCartney’s Maybe I’m Amazed, rebranding the song as “Maybe I’m Immune”.

Corden rattled through the events of the previous week in the song, scrutinising Trump’s drive-by visitation and his removal of his mask.

“Maybe I’m a man and maybe I don’t wear a mask because I don’t care about others, science I don’t really understand,” Corden sang.

“Maybe I just need some oxygen,” he continued, as clips of Trump were overlaid - including his infamous comments about disinfectant.

“Maybe I’m immune to the way the polls are looking now, maybe I’m afraid it’s not Fake News.

“Maybe I’m immune to all the lies that I have made, I shouldn’t have downplayed. Maybe I’m afraid that I might lose this.”

This week, Facebook removed a post in which Trump falsely claimed that coronavirus is less deadly than seasonal flu.

A spokesperson for the social media platform confirmed Trump's post had been removed because it broke its rules on Covid-19 misinformation.

The incumbent also posted the same message on Twitter, which has been branded with a warning for also breaking its misinformation rules.
