Remember when Foo Fighters called their band's Carpool Karaoke stint "uncomfortable" and Dave Grohl lost his crown as the nicest man in rock'n'roll?

Well, never fear – because that accolade has now been restored!

Speaking to The Sun recently, Dave has revealed how he was forced to explain himself to Carpool Karaoke maestro James Corden after the British star sent him a very sweary text.

"I got a f**king text from him [the next day]," he said. "[James] was like, 'What the f**k, dude?' I was like, 'Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god!'"

Forced to backtrack on his comments, Dave revealed how he told Corden that they 'didn't mean' they had an uncomfortable time.

"What we were trying to say was it was uncomfortable to sit in a car and try to sing our own songs. If we were singing Queen songs or Led Zeppelin songs or Beatles songs, it would have been fine," Grohl said. "But to sit there and sing your own songs... we felt weird about it."

Just in case it wasn't clear, Grohl added: "I felt so bad when it came out in the press – 'Foo Fighters had a terrible time, they hated the whole f**king thing'. We didn't.

"[James is] such a sweet guy."

We're probably not going to see a second Foo Fighters edition of Carpool Karaoke though, are we?

Of course, James needn't take up the Foos on their offer of singing Beatles songs, as the one and only Paul McCartney recently filmed his episode of Carpool Karaoke in Liverpool.

The Late Late Show with James Corden airs on CBS in the US and on Sky One and NOW TV in the UK. The UK Carpool Karaoke specials will air between June 19 and 22 at 10pm, also on Sky One and NOW TV.
